About AcuScen

AcuScen Scenar History

AcuScen is an acronym for "Adaptive Compact Universal Self-Correcting Electro Neuro Stimulator" & SCENAR is an acronym for "Self-Controlled Energo-Neuro-Adaptive Regulator". Though the words may not be the same, their origins are very much related.

Though different devices, both AcuScen and SCENAR originated from the same technology. To appreciate the differences and similarities of these two varying offshoots from the original "Scenar 035" machine, we need to look into the history of SCENAR.

It all started as a result of an incident which involved a Russian scientist named Alexander Karasev. Dr Karasev applied all his skills in conventional medicine to deal with this incident but found that they did not help. As he was qualified in both eastern and western medicine he also tried reflexology and acupuncture but found them also to be ineffective. As a result of his efforts he realised that there was a need for something else.

Though not first to come up with the idea of sending electronic signals to the brain, he managed to refine the technique to make these signals similar to those carried in the body's nerve tissue. During this time he had also been working on the Cosmonauts medical program and once he had developed the first successful operational device, he demonstrated it to the Cosmonaut Training Centre.

You may have heard of the Tens machine? Well TENS is an acronym for "Transcutaneous Electro-Neuro-Stimulation" and was Dr Karasev's first invention back in 1973. It was designed for general pain relief and though it worked, its limitation was that the electronic signals were constant to which the body quickly adapted. This, unfortunately, resulted in pain relief which was only short term.

To eliminate the body from adapting to the electronic signals he developed a adaptive bio feedback response feature which allowed the device to communicate with the body and vary the signals to the changing parameters of the skin. Thus the first SCENAR device the, ENS-01, was born in 1976.

Dr Karasev continued to improve the SCENAR device releasing successive prototypes when in 1990 he finally released the Grandmother of SCENARS, the Scenar-035 model.

This is what Dr Karasev said about his new invention:

"The Scenar works by making the body’s own immune system operate more efficiently. Technically it is a very complicated device which sends electronic impulses via the skin to the brain but it was designed to be used by anybody without any special medical training. You just hold it over the affected area or organ and it sends an amplified signal to the brain. This causes the brain to trigger the body’s immune system, and, hey presto, after only a few minutes of treatment, the patient starts feeling much better."

It is at this point where SCENAR technology branches off into several different areas. The first off shoot is a company called OKB-Ritm led by Dr. Alexander Revenko who further developed the Scenar-035 into the Scenar 97.4 in 1997.

In 1998 as a result of the seemingly endless complaints of poor manufacturing and design regarding the Scenar 97.4, Dr. Roman Avagyan (an electronic engineer with a PhD in radio and quantum physics who also invented the AcuVision device which allows for the visualization of acupuncture points) redesigned the Scenar 97.4, and after three years of development, released the AcuScen in 2001.

Since 2001 the AcuScen has proven to be extremely successful with regard to its clinical applications and effects with acute and chronic conditions. Together with its ergonomic design, high quality build and feature rich specifications, it has quickly become the chosen device of the discerning health practitioner.

What about Alexander Karasev?, I hear you say. Well Dr Karasev being a true scientist continues to develop Scenar technology and has evolved it into its second generational phase known as COSMODIC.

When Dr Karasev was asked by a BBC reporter in 1999, whether he has benefited in medical terms from SCENAR technology, his reply was this:

"I myself have not used any drugs for 15 years. I do not remember what tablets you use for a headache. I always use the Scenar. When my children were little, the teachers in the kindergarten were really annoyed with me because my children would still be at school when all the other kids were down with flu. They said, “Can’t you keep them at home like everyone else?" Basically, they wanted to go home themselves and the only reason they had to be at school was to look after my children."
